DHS Medicaid Waiver Services

In-Home Supports Waivers
The In-Home Supports Waivers (IHSW) are capitated waivers to allow individuals with an intellectual disability to live in their own homes or family homes.  A case manager from the Oklahoma Department of Human Services, Developmental Disabilities Services (DDS) assists them in locating, securing, and coordinating needed services. 

Two waivers are available:

  1. In-Home Supports Waiver for Children (IHSW-Children) serves eligible children ages 3 through 17.
  2. In-Home Supports Waiver for Adults (IHSW-Adult) serves Eligible adults, 18 years or older.

Community Waiver
Approved in 1988, the Community Waiver offers services based on individual needs including residential, employment and habilitation services and supports.  An Indivdual Plan (IP) is developed for each individual by a team including the person receiving services, family members, service providers, and a Developmental Disabilities Services (DDS) case manager.
