Advocacy

Parents of children with autism and other disabilities tend to find themselves in the role of advocate in many life situations.  Whether you are working with an early intervention program, a school program, a child care center, or simply sitting in a restaurant, there will be times when you find yourself needing to speak up on behalf of your child.  You may need to speak up to defend what services you feel your child needs, to ask that he be included in a program, or to eat out with your family without being asked to leave.

The resources in this section will assist you in learning more about advocating for your child with ASD.
